After saving up for a long time, you have finally done it! You have gotten yourself a house. Best of all, it was quite the steal since they say the house is cursed and the last family to live there disappeared mysteriously, but those stories are always exaggerated. Anyways, with the promise of pizza, you have a few friends ready to help you move in and if you are lucky, they will help with the fixer up part too. Bringing in the first few boxes, you discover some interesting things and cannot wait to explore more…

Starting up the game, we noticed that they were not connected with each other’s games. This allowed us to check stuff out on our own without the worry of having others solve puzzles too quickly and we just follow along. Make sure you are communicating with your teammates though on the solutions, so you do not get left behind. The story of the game was well written and got us immersed after the introduction. It was a fun adventure that did not take itself too seriously. We do commend Break Glass for properly giving credit to in the images that they used.

We received some information that was required for the puzzles in a .pdf at the start of the game but if you do not get them, do not worry. We did get a chance to download them later in the game. When progressing through the game, we were typically on a webpage that would have the story and as we scrolled down, we would be presented with images to sort through. Break Glass presented the images as large thumbnails so it was nice that we could get the general gist of the picture without having to open it completely. Once we think we know the answer, we selected the “Input Answer” button and go to another page to input our answer. This worked out fine but a few times we were incorrect and had trouble going back to the previous page. Make sure to keep track of all the answers as you progress just in case you get locked out.

The hint system was at the bottom of each page and was easy to use. We only needed to click on the hint button, and it would open to a new page. We did appreciate that a full explanation of the solution was also provided so we knew how to arrive at the answer.

On each page, we got access to a bunch of images that we can scroll through to view and solve the puzzles. Once we thought we had the answer, we clicked the button on the bottom, and it took us to a new page to input our solution. There was a good mix of puzzles with some tricky ones in there. Most of the puzzles required us to make the right connection between the images to solve the puzzles with a mix of logic and more. One tip is to make sure you check over everything. We did get hung up a few times on some puzzles because we were given images that we did not need, or we got information ahead of time that we did not remember to look back on.

The Wizard’s Curse was a light game with an amusing narrative to go with it. The story was something we could dive into and have fun with. The puzzles were solid, but you needed to make sure to go through everything you have and pay attention to details. If you enjoy a light magic game with a little spook mixed in, this would be a great game for you. We played with 3 people online together but with the format of the game, you could easily have a more people join in and all have great time. Plus, how can you say no to pizza afterwards!

(If you do decide to try this game, give us a shoutout or tag us on social media so we know you heard it from "ESCAPETHEROOMers"!)

Disclosure: We thank Break Glass Escape Rooms for providing us with a sample of their game. Although a complimentary experience was generously provided, it does not impact our opinion on the review whatsoever.
