📖 THE STORY

There's been an increase of kidnappings occurring in Breakout City. You and your friends have been tracking the kidnapper and decide to follow them to a motel outside of town. It appears the kidnapper was on to you and has lured you into his deadly game. Are you able to discover what happened to the other victims before you become one yourself?

🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

• In "Do Not Disturb", the backstory definitely set up the game for us. Walking inside the room, an eeriness followed and something creepy is lurking out of this room. The set was designed to have that run-down motel room look with a twin size bed, a mini-fridge, and an old microwave. Most of the things that you would expect to find in an old dingy room on the outskirts of town. All of a sudden, we seem to have walked into his trap instead.

• The lighting added a scare factor into the ambience and the change was quite unexpected.

• The hint system was unique as it utilized the storyline instead of breaking character.

• Certain puzzles used actual props in the room and we were surprised that we actually had to perform an action and wait for a certain reveal to happen.

• The ending created a sense of urgency which fit quite nicely with the theme of the game.
  

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

• Although the set design fit the description of a run-down motel room, there were a couple of things that felt like it needed a bit of touch up. We weren't sure if we were breaking things at one point. Some decor/puzzle were also taken out as it doesn't function in that room anymore but were still visible which became unintentional red herrings.

• The speaker that were giving backstory was playing throughout the game and at times there were actual important clues but it's not very clear so we had to ask the GM to repeat it several times.

• One puzzle was confusing as to what they were correlating to and why and when this all happened. Although we've eventually completed it, there was no cluing as to why we should do them at the first place.

• The alternative ending is a cool concept but it does ultimately lead to same ending which kind of defeated its purpose.
  

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

This is a new take on a kidnap type of story as it takes on a different perspective to their other room "kidnapped". There's no relevance to the actual storyline but instead of being kidnapped, you're actually tracking the kidnapper down. If you enjoy anything related to crime solving then you might want to dig deep into this case. There's definitely a sense of urgency throughout the game as the kidnapper could be watching you or making his way back to the motel room. If you find a code, don't be afraid to give it a try on everything you can find! Make the right decision as the wrong one could cost your lives!
