📖 THE STORY
It’s 2500. Climate change has ravaged planet Earth. The Zarkians - extraterrestrial beings - have taken over and you are one of the last humans alive. Except that you are all now exhibits in their own Museum of Humankind - unless you can escape. Find the Zearth plant - the one plant able to withstand extreme weather conditions - in time, outsmart the Zarkians, or stay on display forever.
🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE
Highly Immersive and Aligned with the Theme - True enough, you start as an exhibit in a Museum. And the puzzles take forms that would not be out of place in a ‘Museum of Humankind’. At the same time, puzzles were also aligned with the theme of the game, so players interested in sustainability would feel very seen. Puzzles were also tied to the room, and so required players to be present and engaged to get the full room experience.
Educational - The room was themed around eco-sustainability and climate change. The puzzles were also a great way to educate players on the goings on and actions taken to curb climate change.
Great for Team Bonding - This is not a room for players who are used to playing solo or with another person. The first section of the room, on top of taking a good bit of time, will require the group to be split and clear communication between both groups. Later sections also require more than one person just to find the hidden puzzles.
🧩 MISSED THE MARK
The first section took significantly longer than expected, and required the group to be separated and to communicate with each other, with little context to help with deciphering the puzzle at first. Given that this would be the first puzzle players would be faced with, it may come off as quite discouraging for first-time or beginner players, or even players who came to play without familiar team mates.
Logistically, one of the sections had a risk of falls and injuries if the players were not careful. This room section would also have benefitted from clearer markings or hints, and tools that could cover a larger or clearer area to aid with puzzle hunting.
🏹 TAKE A SHOT?
This room is multi-sectional, with a good amount of physical movement required to get through each section, so players with mobility issues may want to avoid this game. Players who like Escape Rooms that are self-contained (does not need external knowledge, Google, or cipher knowledge) may not like this room as much as well, since it requires a good bit of web searching within the room.
However…
It’s definitely a room where you will be exercising all parts of your body and brain, together with your communication skills and teamwork. If you’re up for a challenge, do give this room a try!
For any future games, we would recommend a maximum of 4-5 people in a group. The price ranges for these games typically range between SGD20 to 30, depending on the day the game is booked.
