The game is an online version of their IRL escape room “Pirate Plunder.” The Telescape platform that they use allows players to enjoy a 360-degree view of the room. There is no live host, but a pirate in the introductory video teaches players how to play the game. The hints are also built into the game. You can start playing anytime you like, and you have 60 minutes from the time you click "start". If you need to communicate with your teammate, you must use your own communication tool such as Zoom.

I enjoyed exploring the room with the 360-degree view. It was not the same as an in-person game, but it still gave me a feeling of excitement while exploring it. I loved the simplicity of the game system. Since I could only choose the camera view to see things in the room or the inventory to see the items that were found, it was easy to handle.

The room was well decorated as a cabin of an old wooden ship. Searching the items with the 360-view of the room, I felt like I was physically there on the pirate ship. Including searching items, plenty of puzzles were available. Some were straightforward puzzles that people might encounter in any escape room, and some were not. The room had a good mixture of different types of puzzles, and all of them fit nicely with the theme. I really enjoyed the essence of being in the escape room even though I was playing it from home. As for some of their physical puzzles, we were not able to work in the same way as we normally would if we were playing in person. Yet, those were adjusted to the online version. I appreciated that information needed to solve puzzles appeared next to those while we were working on them. The adjustments made the game less stressful to play online. The story moved on as we moved on to the next room. The transition from one room to the next was very smooth. It might have been more exciting if the story had a little bit more of a twist in the end. Overall, the experience of the online version of this game was very satisfying.

“Pirate Plunder” was an online escape room that enhanced our experience as if we were actually playing in person. Exploring the pirate ship with the 360-degree view was fun! The room that appeared on the screen was nicely decorated like a pirate ship, and it had plenty of pirate-themed puzzles. I believe this online game captured the essence of the escape room well. I recommend this game to everyone who loves playing an escape room. So, why don’t you get ready for an adventure to find a mysterious pirate’s treasure?
