A Team of brave warriors (ETR + EcapeMattster +Society of Curiosities) heard that a small village desperately needed our help to free them from the evil witch's curse. We gather our only weapon, our wits, and began the quest.
This is an audio escape room hosted by a live game master on Zoom. We were presented with graphics of the various locations of the town and different puzzles within them. Each time we wanted to explore, we would communicate our idea to the game master. There were a few times we experienced lag during our game which made it difficult to hear but it could just be a connection issue at the time. The game was pretty straight forward. We didn't have any confusions on the puzzles. There weren't that many chances to be creative and interact with the game master expect for one location. It was interesting to know that the game could be "extended" if we chose to play a bit longer at a certain "option point". Although the puzzle type would be repeated but the questions would be different. We chose to continue on with the game by completing just the essential components and finished it with 34 minutes and 35 seconds. It would be great to see more check points that we can make choices on to be added to the game as that was a very fun moment for all of us and we haven't seen audio escape rooms used that method. This would also allow us to be able to interact with the game master more. Since the graphics felt cartoon-like and the puzzles were quite easy, this would be a great game for families with kids. I'm sure they will be able to discover more "surprises" than we did in the cursed town!
