However, you found out that Oscar was captured by the captain of the ship, Blackbeard! While the pirates are on the island for a night out, you must save Oscar before the pirates return, find out Mr. X’s plan, and prevent it from happening! Can you accomplish everything within 60 minutes?

This game is an online escape version of their table-top game released in 2017 provided on Telescape. Most of the puzzles are the same as the box version. To get started, you just need to access the site given to play the game. Hints are also included within the game if needed. When you need to communicate with your teammate, you need your own communication tools like Zoom or others.

I loved that there was a trial section before the actual game started. Since this game did not have a host, it was a fantastic way for us to figure out how to play before the clock started. How to use the item was a little bit unclear in the beginning. Although there were not many items that we had to use during the game, I thought it might be nicer to have an inventory system separately.

First of all, the pirate-themed puzzle was fun. There was a variety of puzzles from simple intuitive ones to deduction and logic ones. Once we gathered information about each puzzle and sorted it out, it wasn't that complicated. It was satisfying that I was able to see the link between each piece of information. It might be easy for those who are experts, but I believe it is just right in terms of difficulty for most people. I also really enjoyed the images they used to create the pirate ship environment. Those pictures made me feel as if I was on the ship. I enjoyed exploring the deck and inside the ship. I loved the unique idea of the story to be a timeline-keeping agent to save both a colleague who was captured by Blackbeard and saving the world by stopping Mr. X’s plan. It was great that even the trial section was part of the story. I appreciated how the game moved forward by Oscar revealing new information each time we solved a puzzle. It helped us to figure out the direction we needed to go next. Yet, at some point, I felt that the ideas of pirate-theme and saving the world from Mr. X lacked coherency a little bit somehow. Most of the puzzles were pirate-themed, which I enjoyed, but I wish there were a little bit more traces of Mr. X somewhere along the way. Plus, I thought it would be better to explain the detail of the EMIT business a little bit more on the webpage describing the game. Then, people who have never played this company’s game before might enjoy this unique and exciting situation more.

"Escape the Queen Anne's Revenge" was an exciting online escape game with a unique story and fun pirate-themed puzzles. This game is perfect for a fun game night with family and friends, and I recommend it, especially for those who love an adventure, puzzle, or pirate-themed game. So, if you are interested in this adventure, gather your team and get ready to time travel to this old pirate ship to save Oscar and the world!
