Strange things have been reported by guests staying at the Escape Hotel. They could never finish a peaceful meal in the dining room. Madame Butterfly, a famous medium, has been hired to deal with this matter but she needs as much positive energy as she can get. Will you help her?

This a digital point-n-click game that you can play with a group of friends. I suggest for the team leader to set up a video conferencing call for the group. This would be used for communication between the players. In the game, every player will be able to see each other's cursor. If a player collects an item, it'll go into an inventory folder where all the players will be able to see that item. If a player solves a puzzle, it'll unlock for all the players. It's best to communicate how you solved the puzzle with the entire team before unlocking a lock as it could trigger a video and confuse the other players.

In this game, you'll encounter a few ways to unlock items. There are normal number locks and key locks but also items you'll need to combine in order to make something appear or react. If you haven't played a game in Telescape before, make sure you read the instructions carefully at the beginning.

The game is staged in the eerie dining room of the Escape Hotel. You're able to interact with various items that could potentially show a video or play a creepy sound. This is one of the rare occasions that I actually got a few jump scares from a digital game.

The puzzles were not too difficult for enthusiasts and most were non-linear. Since we're able to divide and conquer, we finished in about 29 minutes. For enthusiasts, I would suggest having no more than 3 players for this game. We were also able to come up with an answer to a puzzle without using one of the clues that was given which confused us at the end as we thought we never used that clue.

I really appreciated the clarity of the audio for this game, especially for the puzzle elements. The ways we were able to utilize the Ouija board and other "spiritual" items really bought out the spooky vibe in this game. Just when we thought we're done, there was more to be discovered...

If you want something not too difficult in terms of puzzles and something spooky in terms of ambience, then you might want to be a guest at this haunted dinner. If a digital game doesn't satisfy your cravings, then you can check out their live actor online version of this game called "Madame Butterfly". See trailer below:

This was another Telescape based experience similar to those I had played before - where a real room is filmed/photographed and then the interface allows you to look around, interact with certain things and enter codes to progress. The room has a house of horror look to it - not for the faint-hearted but nothing super scary, more creepy :)

This one had a nice mix of puzzles and some clever touches - the rest of my team were solving things left right and centre while I was hunting for hidden areas or clues, and we moved along at quite a pace. We didn't come across any technical problems and the inventory system and code entry worked well.

This would be a great game to play around Halloween or with any horror or occult fans!

*** This game can no longer purchased but can still be booked as an in-person experience ***
