📖 THE STORY
You have arrived to participate in Professor Harris' latest dig at the Temple of Ocular, though the professor has mysteriously not arrived to join you. It seems, in fact, that the last several expeditions have not returned…so he thought it was best he stay home for this one…but he's sure you'll be fine! This is the tomb of the ancient warrior, Guerrero. It is rumored that his curse was unleashed when someone stole his treasured Heart of the Jaguar amulet. Can you break the curse and emerge unscathed?
🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE
Expedition Escape! throws you into the world of archeology right from the start with their pre-game banter and instructions, so be prepared to play along! The intro video more fully introducing you to the story also draws you in with strong acting.
We were very impressed with the level of tech in this room and the fact that all of it worked perfectly!! On the puzzle side, this led to clean and satisfying tactile solves of the beginner-friendly challenges, making it a treat for your senses.
All that tech is also harnessed to create a highly immersive experience. Sound, lighting, and other effects are expertly wielded to not only set the scene and guide you but to create magical moments and breathtaking reveals.
Wallaby, your helpful guide from base, is ready to guide you along when needed. And there is another character you will encounter along the way where the excellent audio and voice acting perfectly fits the experience. There are even some potential bonus bits you might discover if you are there for a special occasion.
🧩 MISSED THE MARK
This is a wondrous but quite short adventure for experienced players. The owners are working on potential adaptive difficulty options, which would definitely be a fantastic addition. We didn't want to leave!
🏹 TAKE A SHOT?
This room is full of audio and visual surprises - some big, some small - making for a truly immersive adventure. Those craving more experiential components will find this to be a can't-miss game. We also wouldn't hesitate to bring a group of kids (or, kids at heart) to explore the wonders within - it would be especially rewarding for a birthday...though we recommend smaller player counts for enthusiasts. If you crave complex multi part puzzles, this room might be a bit too straightforward, but if you let yourself be swept away by the sights and sounds, it will be unforgettable!
