📖 THE STORY
We are here to investigate the disappearance of Dr. Popwell. Her assistant Siri thinks her replacement Mrs. Young had something to do with it. We only have an hour to discover what happened to Dr. Popwell before Mrs. Young returns to her lab!
🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE
There were various types of puzzles in this room, which if you have a large group it would be very easy to spread out and work on multiple things at the same time.
We enjoyed a surprising scenery change on the set design aspect in this room which was an improvement from their bunker room.
🧩 MISSED THE MARK
It didn’t feel like a clear path as to what we were trying to solve in terms of the storyline. At the end, we might have found out what had happened to Dr. Popwell using our imaginations, but we did not have clear evidence from the story or puzzles to direct us there. A stronger ending puzzle reveal would help this element.
Some props felt like they needed updating as some words or corners were worn out.
We were surprised that we had to use a set of clues twice as our usual habit after playing many rooms was to put away items we’ve already used. This made us ask for a hint ultimately and of course only to find out we’re overthinking again.
We felt that the red herring component could be removed since it didn’t add much value to the room and even though it was glued down, the players still were able to do damage to it.
🏹 TAKE A SHOT?
This is a puzzle heavy room. If you are up for the challenge, come with 3 people or less. We do recommend at least 5-6 people for this room mainly because of the number of puzzles involved. Organization is the key to success for this room. Make sure you group things you think is relevant together. We had a lot of fun playing with our friends from RI Riddle Room and we look forward to seeing Curiosity Shop’s new creations!
