Bobby, Jo, Charlie, Riley, Alex, and Taylor attended summer camp at Camp Silver Lake back in '79 when their camp counselor Jessie mysteriously died. Five years later, the group decided to meet up again in the same cabin (#5) for one last reunion before they go their separate ways...

You can play this game one of three ways. You can purchase the script and host your own murder mystery party with your friends using any type of virtual meet up platform or you can hire a live host from Foulplay Games to host your game or actually meet up in person! For the sake of review purposes we had a lovely host named Maddy. Maddy introduced a new platform to us called Gather which we really enjoyed as this felt like a hybrid of the two options mentioned. Maddy gave us an overview of the functions in Gather and we started to roam around the map instantly. This is a map they've customized for this particular game.

Prior to the game, each of the players were assigned a character. Each character had a character profile that gave the back story and personality of the individual. On game day, some of our players were dressed up and really played into their characters. It's totally up to you how you would like to play this game. The host of the game will be in charge of the time and when to give each character their assignment and secret messages. For example if you are the killer, you would want the other players to not to suspect you of any wrong doings. There are areas on the map where individuals can speak to each other publicly or in private. When you're in a private conversation, the other players will not be able to hear you. Other than roaming around the island and talking to people, there's nothing else you can do with the map itself besides adding in decors (which we later found out we shouldn't have been able to do). It would've been fun to add a few props in there or puzzle pieces to build deeper into the mystery of the game.

This is more like a murder mystery deduction type of experience and does not contain any puzzles. You'll need to converse with other players and get them to tell you information about themselves (although they can lie) and piece the information from others together to make a conclusion. At the end of the 90 minutes, we were asked to fill out a Google form and our host informed us which players correctly guess the killer and the motive. After that, we had a very "glamourous award ceremony" where certain players received "Best Dressed", "Best Character", etc...

I really enjoy RPG games especially when there's a murder mystery involved. It was so much fun to see everyone dressed up and act as a different person. One thing we wish this game had was a bit more puzzles or some interactive element on the map itself. Since there were only 6 characters in the game, after awhile we've pretty much questioned everyone. At times, we did feel like we were counting down the clock. I think if certain character had pieces of info that required a "secret word" (by solving a certain puzzle), that would definitely give the characters some things to do other than conversation. Time will also feel more utilized. There's a lot of potential we see in this game so we definitely look forward to future scripts that would incorporate a bit more of our puzzle demands!
