Woody has hidden all of his research somewhere in his apartment. Can you find it before the Feds arrive?

🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

  • There was a clear narrative in this game. Once the game began, you know you'll need to search for evidence. You'll find plenty along the way but piecing together is what's difficult. This made us feel like real detectives.

  • We really appreciate the creator using the props from the actual era of the storyline. Rotary phone is something you don't see much in escape rooms anymore but it fit the theme and they had a clever way of using it.

  • I like the "check off" suspect board in the room instead of providing pen and paper to the players. It made the elimination process much easier and actually feel like a "whiteboard" used in police stations.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

  • One of the puzzle in the room was hard to place as it's on the wall and kept falling when we're about to complete it.

  • Some "search and find" parts were a bit difficult to find.

  • There was a puzzle in the latter part of the room that puzzled us in terms of recognizing the pattern without any guidance. There were many ways to interpret it. It would help with an extra clue placement somewhere in the room.

  • There was a prop used that had a cool reveal just like when detectives are solving a crime. I just wish it was more clear in terms of the reveal as it was pretty fainted and difficult to read.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

"Final Deadline: A Murder Mystery" wasn't a room with a high budget where you'll be wowed by the set design or decor but it will definitely satisfy detective/murder mystery fans. When clues are found by solving the puzzles in the room, you'll gain important information to help you eliminate suspects. This will ultimately lead you the real killer. The storyline was intriguing as it will slowly unveil as more evidence comes into play. That was our favorite part of the game. Besides this game, there's 6 more rooms at HomeTown Escapes and we heard that they'll be expanding with more rooms in the future!
