"The Mafia" was the right choice for us to do first since we needed to warmup. This new room "Escobar" is on a different level in terms of level of difficulty. We are judging this based on two players so if you bring more people it will definitely work in your favor. The story brings us into one of Pablo Escobar's safe houses to find some of his valuables. But we got locked in as soon as we entered and now, we are hoping to find an exit and escape in an hour hopefully with some loot as well. Since this room is newer, we got to see the updated development in the use of technology and props right away. There were a few clever use of the "tools" for solving the puzzles that didn't really need high tech but ended up being my favorite. You really needed some logic skills for this room especially for one particular puzzle that stumped us for some time and that’s the reason why we were very close to the ending but didn’t get out. There’s a good amount of variations of puzzles that used reduction theory, math, the good old “searching”, thinking outside of the box, etc… If you want a challenge, this is the room for you. We appreciate Reykjavik Escape showing us their scale from an old to new room and their ongoing hard work to improve their rooms for escape room enthusiasts like ourselves and the level of difficulty they make them for beginners and for experts. There’s a ROOM for everyone there! If we have the chance, we will return to try their other rooms for sure!
