Gallery Heist is a point and click game held over the Unity program. Upon booking the game, you will receive a link to a zoom call. At your scheduled date and time, log into the zoom call where you will be greeted with a game master who will then give a short briefing on how the game works, before giving us all a link to the Unity program. One of your players will be told to share their screen, while everyone else is free to explore the game on their own. Any code that you have tried and worked on, you will have to let the person who is screen sharing know, so he/she can also key in on their own screen. The game will not be synced so sharing the screen really helps to keep the team moving at the same speed. The controls are smooth to use, and the graphics are eye catching - it really seemed like legit art pieces. Anything that is important will have an "I" icon which you can explore further, and upon using/solving that puzzle, it will be gone. Our objective is to find out who stole the art piece, so its kind of like a mini murder mystery to solve. If you are not a gamer, we suggest you go into the setting to switch the orientation of your mouse control. It will make the game play much smoother for you.

The puzzles were all on the easy side. Our team of 4 completed the game in 18 minutes without any hints! There were a variety of puzzles which required certain skills like keen observation, spatial ability, inference and logic. Most were easily solved if you can infer where each clue relates to each item and just 'match' them together. For enthusiasts, you might recognize these puzzles quite quickly but for people who are not familiar with these puzzles, you might take longer time. Most group do get an initial hint from the game master. The game master will be there for the entire game as it is a hosted game even though it's in the digital format so if you need any technical assistance or hints to puzzles, he/she will step in right away.

Although we finished in 18 minutes, it was still a fun game due to the mechanics involved, the overall storyline and puzzles that revealed clues of the mastermind's identity, bit by bit. We felt encouraged to keep going on as we want to know who is this mastermind! With that said, depending on the number of players you have, this game might or might not be suitable. The high cost for the game might not be suitable for enthusiasts but could make sense for a large group with less experience with puzzles. They are able to host to an unlimited amount of players all at once! Hopefully they'll develop self sustaining games soon without a GM so that enthusiast can play on their own.

Lastly, I wouldn't recommend this game for enthusiasts as they will take roughly the same time as us and might feel it's not worth it. However, as someone who is in the events industry, I will totally recommend it for team building activities or beginners to online escape games, where they can have a feel on how such games work, yet not find it too difficult/easy, and perhaps might get addicted to escape games in the future!
