📖 THE STORY

Your curiosity led you to your neighbor, the fortune teller. It seems like the reading that you received wasn't what you had anticipated. Will you find a way to change your disastrous fate within an hour?

🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

• Lost Games have really fun and creative game masters. Every game's intro is done with them dressed in costumes and in character.

• This game also had a live actor in the room with us. The creator gave the live actor a lot of freedom on how they want to interact with the players. Our storyline was a bit different than what was written on the website (unless that's the intended twist). Since this game has about 16/17 puzzles and it's up to the actor to pick out which ones they want your team to solve, you might not be able to see all of them. For this reason, the game could be re-playable. You might get a totally different set of puzzles and experience next time especially with a different game master.

• We liked this different concept as it's not a typical escape room. The game is score-based. You'll earn coins for the puzzles you solved. The coins could also be used to purchase items (which will be used in conjunction with puzzles) or ask for hints. You only have a limited time to solve each puzzle. If you failed to solve a puzzle, the game master can choose to put it away or bring it back for a second try.

• There were moments where players were chosen to complete different tasks. Some needed a bit of bravery and others might make you the star of the group. There will be guaranteed laughter.
  

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

• The set design needed some revamping and the props definitely needed updating. Full disclosure: This game was purchase from Level Games and doesn't really represent the quality of Lost Games that we've played before.

• One of the tactile puzzles was hard to maneuver due to the condition of the props.

• One of the puzzles that required visualization was quite difficult to see in the dim lighting and some parts of the props used felt like they were coming off of the wall.
  

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

The ever changing storyline (pending on the game master you'll get that day) is a really unique concept. There's also no clock in the room. It feels like you really have put your fate in the hands of the live actor. They are in control of the time and will monitor when you'll receive that final puzzle. That's when you'll actually feel like time is of the essence. There are two endings to this game (so you could actually fail). We recommend a larger group as it could be more fun to cheer on your teammates during a solo quest or divide and conquer to cover more puzzles. Currently the build feels like a carnival type of vibe. I look forward to the Lost Games bringing in their own flavor and making the game truly theirs.

Update: We re-visited Lost Games and played their Halloween Edition of "The Fortune Teller" in November 2023!! This version will probably stay as there's a new realm that have been added to this version. The new realm is great for "thrill" seekers as it added a non-puzzle component but created more eerie vibes compared to the previous version.
