🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE
Heist games are usually fun because it allows the players to work as a team like "Ocean's Eleven" or "The Italian Job". For "The Vault", the storyline had a vigilante feel to it as we weren't just stealing from anyone, we were robbing a local crime boss.
When you first walk into the room, you'll actually feel like you're in a real office. It doesn't feel like a staged escape room set design which made the game experience felt more real.
We were anticipating seeing vaults during the game but were amazed by the authenticity and the sizes.
There were some clever usage of items within the office that made us think outside of the box.
🧩 MISSED THE MARK
This is one of their older games and some props felt like they needed updating.
It would be awesome if some physical puzzles could be added to the game that would allow us to use tools as thieves (for example: pick a door lock, lasers before reaching the vault, etc.).
Some light or sound warnings would be great (especially towards the end) as we didn't feel the sense of urgency from a heist.
🏹 TAKE A SHOT?
This is our 3rd time visiting Lock & Clue Escape Rooms and each game that we've played has been completely different feel from each other. Check out our reviews on "The Sorcerer's Curse" and "The Cellar II: Saul's Revenge". If you love films like "The Thomas Crown Affair" or "Entrapment", this will definitely satisfy the cat burglar inside of you. Snooping around an office with your team looking for ways to crack that vault open definitely has it's perks. There's a good amount of surprises in this room, so be sure to split up and make sure you examine everything!
