🎭 THE EXPERIENCE

"Jimmy Fallon's Tonightmares" is a haunted maze experience venturing through ten frightening rooms filled with some of Jimmy's worst nightmares brought to life! Upon entering, you are met with a variety of menacing characters. Prepare to encounter the diabolical mad scientist, malfunctioning killer robots, a horrifying werewolf, and other sinister creatures!

The experience is located downstairs as soon you walk inside the main entrance of the 630 5th Avenue building (behind the "Atlas" statue). Once you reach the bottom of the escalator, there is someone to scan your QR code to direct you to where the line begins. As you near the briefing point, there is a security checkpoint.

We had a total group of 8 people (our group of 4 was paired with another group of 4). Once you enter, they debrief you on the rules and remind you that there is a strobe lights inside in case anyone needs to leave. The entire walkthrough was about 10 minutes (1 minute in each room) led by a zombified guide to make sure you don't delay the group that's behind you. Once you finish, there's a photo op with a monster that pops out behind you for the final photo (available for purchase).

🎯  HIT THE BULLSEYE

• As you enter Jimmy Fallon's nightmare, he quickly guides you on a path through his greatest fears. Instead of moving quickly from one room to another, I appreciated how he seamlessly introduced his next nightmare as a narrator in between each room during this journey.

• The set design, lighting and sound effects were phenomenal as expected from NBCUniversal. Each room was successfully designed to bring one of Jimmy's nightmares to life.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

• Because you are only allowed 1 minute in each room, it was difficult to absorb the experience in it's entirety. Appreciating the jump-scares was difficult due to the constant feeling of being hurried along.

• The beginning of the experience was clearly more carefully planned and executed compared to the ending, which seemed underwhelming.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

Overall, "Jimmy Fallon's Tonightmares" was enjoyable and entertaining! I wouldn't necessarily categorize it as a traditional haunt, but more as a fun and slightly spooky experience infused with Jimmy's humor. There were a few jump-scares along the way but most of them were predictable. Since this experience is catered to a wider audience, I would highly recommend anyone to check it out.
