📖 THE STORY

We were set on a mission to free one of the most infamous prisoner in the magic prison. On top of the many challenges of getting into the prison, we also had to watch out for the prison guard! We needed all the luck we could get…

🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

  • There was a “special” entrance for this room to the prison that made our entire experience magical. This was only the second time we saw an escape room use this prop.

  • The set design felt very movie-like. We liked how the characters were incorporated in the story again (for a more immersive feel, maybe projectors with a fog effect could reveal each of the characters in the prison cells).

  • This room was pretty linear, but we didn’t mind it as much with just the two of us and each reveal connected closely with the next.

  • The prison guard was a clever way of adding intensity to the story line. We felt more into the story and participating along side of “him”.

  • This room had a much clearer storyline than “Chamber of Secret”. We knew what we had to do immediately and had it also had a strong finish.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

  • One prop at the beginning had some tech issues. After multiple tries of placement, it finally worked. It may be worth it to check out the problem.

  • We still felt like the “atmosphere” of the room should not play into the cleanliness of the props. There were still dust on things we’ve touched and that should be rectified.

  • Although, we really enjoy the “special” entrance, it could also be hazardous to some players. We think maybe provide a safety measure at “the end” of it would be essential.

  • Since this was a linear room, a large group might find it harder to sustain the 75minutes. Perhaps adding a few more puzzles or even searching elements just to create a “divide and conquer” feel would be ideal.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

Once again, if you are a Harry Potter (which we are) or any sort of magic fan, you’ll enjoy this room. If you had to pick one of the rooms to try due to timing, we would suggest this one over “Chamber of Secret”. We loved the creativity behind this room and the story line was quite unique as well. You’ll probably never experience one of these designs anywhere else if you haven’t played hundreds of rooms. We suggest a smaller group for this room to have a better and fuller experience.
