The year is 972 and you and your viking cohorts have just been captured by the opposing clan’s leader. You find out that they plan to attack in just over an hour from now. You must find some way to escape and let your clansmen know of the coming attack before they all perish. Can you save your people in time?

This is a room that is based off of ancient lore from around the area. One of the twelve sons of the King of Thomond (located in now County Clare), Brian Boru was leading forces around the area and finally decided that the King needed his land (Limerick) back. In the settlement of Limerick, is where your team is stationed acting as a viking in the area under the leadership of Ivar.

"Under Siege" takes place using the Telescape format. It is a recreation of Online Escape Room Ireland’s actual brick and mortar room available in Ireland. All aspects of the room are well photographed in 360-degree view making navigation quite simple. If there is an item that can be clicked on, a small interactive picture will appear telling the user that the area is important. As you collect items, they will show up in your inventory. The puzzles will then populate with all of the proper tools you have found along your way. Locks and inputs are as simple as putting the code into the game and if it is correct, something will further the game. Make sure you remember that players can use the mouse's scroll wheel (or icons in the upper corner) in order to zoom in and out of this room. There might be some details unclear at the viewing distance.

This game should take about 60-90 minutes. Online Escape Room Ireland gives an access code to the game and once clicked (or activated), your team will have up to 72 hrs to access and play the game. Giving plenty of leeway if there are any issues with your play session.

When playing "Under Siege", you will notice a wide variety of logically sound puzzles that riddle the room. Most of the puzzles follow the logic of finding the piece of it, connecting it with the lock and absorbing new information. Pay close attention to all things in this experience, for you don’t quite know when the information will be used. Backtracking is used in the game as well as some deceptive camera angles.

This is a well put together room that appeals to all who would be interested. The puzzle design and flow is well put together and the theme is quite unique. A couple minor issues I had was how the game is presented in its lighting. There are bright fluorescent bulbs that give the room an artificial feel rather than one of historical immersion. Speaking of its history, the story is an intriguing idea to base its puzzles off of and create a world, the puzzles though, don’t further the story other than what we already know during the introduction of the game. Thus, the game lends itself to a more puzzling experience and in that aspect is where the game shines. If Viking culture or engaging puzzles sound interesting then give "Under Siege" a play!
