After an enjoyable weekend, you return to school excited to get to work. As you arrive at the administrative center, you discover your professor has laid out an array of curious puzzles for you to solve before school begins. The prize? Delicious treats! Time to shake away those weekend cobwebs and get to work!

This online audio escape room takes place on Zoom where you are greeted by your game master. Before you game begins, your game master will provide you with an introduction to the story and offer a brief tutorial of how an audio escape room works. You will be provided with images of various parts of the room, but your main game play involves interacting with these images through your game master. In a physical escape room, you will pick up an object or flip through a book; in an audio escape room, you tell your game master what you want to do and they will respond with what happens and in some cases reveal more images of the item upon inspection. When you think you have solved something, you prompt your GM with the answer and what you want to do with it and you will be guided onto the next task. Whenever you get stuck you can ask the GM for a hint.

The key with these styles of game play is to talk about your puzzling aloud with your group. If you have an idea, tell the game master - the worst that happens is nothing happens!

The puzzles in "Game 14: Bear To Dream" are relatively light. They vary from searching puzzles, pattern identification, ciphers, and logic puzzles. The main trick is to make associations between found items and clues left for you. Make sure to check all areas of the room and ask questions to ensure you are not missing anything. Having a pen and paper is good to note patterns and numbers you noticed as you navigate across the illustrations. We ended up using one hint for this game but we realised immediately what we were doing wrong right after - in this case, try something a few times before moving on.

"Game 14: Bear To Dream" is a cute audio adventure filled with a mix of traditional and creative puzzles that aid collaborative puzzling with friends. It’s a great game to play after a long day with friends that is playful and fun with a minor difficulty level. This is the kind of game where exploring the room and engaging with the game master can really make the experience. The theme was adorable and fit for all ages. I recommend having a sweet treat nearby when you finish this game because, after finishing, I was craving a delicious sugary snack to reward myself with a job well done!
