You come to find yourself in a strange room and as you examine your surroundings you try to recall what has happened and realise that you have no memory! You can’t even recall your own name. You scramble for the door handle to find it locked. You have no idea how long you have until whoever locked you away returns. But something about your name has to be the key and you are determined to escape!

Once you receive your game confirmation email you will receive access to a Telescape link to log onto in. Once you click “start” you will have 72 hours to complete the game, which means you can play it all in one go or break it up into chunks. Multiple devices can log onto the Telescape link and together you will explore the room, examine objects, and unlock a series of drawers, wardrobes, and briefcases. At the beginning of the game there is a tutorial introduction to explain how Telescape works for newer players - as an experienced player I found the two GM's to be entertaining but I do wish there was a way to skip forward, especially when you are playing a few of their games.

I found it useful and new that the inventory on this game was split on to either side of the screen for accessibility throughout. You could also access hints by clicking the “?” mark above the inventory. Once you have used an item successfully it will vanish from your inventory and clicking on the item it was used with in the room will reveal a green “used” stamp to indicate you no longer need to use the item any further, which I appreciated. Overall, this game follows a traditional Telescape escape room style so gameplay is easy to jump into once you get started. Even if you need to review the rules again, you can always click the “i” icon above the inventory.

The puzzles in "Amnesia" consist of a series of letter and number locks that you need to solve in order to access hidden portions of the room. There were many different types of puzzles, but they mainly focused on logic, observation, and math challenges. I would say the puzzles were traditional in nature, so if you enjoy your comfort style puzzling while at home, then "Amnesia" does provide enough variety to move you along. My favourite puzzles were ones that required you to draw out hidden messages left behind as I got little “aha” moments when I caught onto the message they were leaving. Our group required no hints and completed the game in about 45 minutes.

"Amnesia" provides players with a solid puzzling experience that keeps you involved and moving around the room. I would have liked more theming to the experience but the story revealed through cards and messages gave us the threads to tie together the experience. If you enjoy traditional escape rooms and want to play them from the comfort of your home at your own pace, "Amnesia" is a good option!
