📖 THE STORY

After the spread of the terrible zombie virus, humanity was forced underground where they built cities with life support systems. For decades scientists have been trying to develop a vaccine against zombies, in the hope of finally leaving the bunkers. Professor Adams is believed to have been successful in creating such a vaccine that turns the zombies back into humans, but suddenly the professor has vanished…

You are scientists from another underground lab. Your mission is to get into the professor’s laboratory and find the vaccine. But it will not be that simple. His laboratory is a bunker with advanced security, and even if you do get inside, the vaccine is protected. It is necessary to work quickly and efficiently, as the system will self-destruct the bunker in 60 minutes! Humans are waiting for your rescue team with the hope of seeing the sun again.

🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

  • Questerland are known for their large scale, high production set designs, which are filled with thematic props and atmospheric light and sound effects. The overall appearance of the room fits with the underground bunker theme nicely; the arched ceiling was a nice touch.

  • I wouldn’t call this room scary in any way, however there is a dark undertone achieved which provides a creepy atmosphere.

  • Story-wise, I am not sure why we start the game locked separately in different rooms; however, we did enjoy the cooperative nature it made our challenge to reunite. Communication through the door was important to solving several hands-on puzzles.

  • The cooperative nature of the puzzles continues throughout, often the puzzles are best solved with two people working side by side. We did find that the puzzles had a relationship with the theme, but they weren’t necessarily linked to one another or the story as a whole .

  • Questerland may have one of the best lobby areas in Prague. There is a bar which serves drinks and snacks, as well as numerous family boardgames for you to play. This space is bright and open and also used to house parties and special events.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

  • Whilst the individual spaces within the room looked impressive at a distance, when you look closely at the finer details you notice a lack of authenticity with many of the materials, such as the use of painted Styrofoam walls.

  • Although we appreciated that many of the puzzles had a cooperative nature to them, this dynamic could have been enhanced further if the components were separated in the room, rather than having players work side by side. This would force players to add verbal communication as an extra layer for achieving success.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

This is definitely a great room for newer teams to play, due to the simplicity of the puzzles and the thematic setting which provides an immersive experience. We were told that our game was the easiest they have on offer, so we are definitely interested to come back and try their more challenging adventures!
