📖 THE STORY

Your Grandpa has been fascinated by tales of lost pirate treasure since childhood, inspired by stories of daring buccaneers and hidden riches. For decades, he has studied ancient maps, explored libraries, and joined treasure hunting clubs, all in pursuit of one legend—the cursed treasure of No-Eyed-Ned, a notorious pirate who hid a vast fortune before disappearing. Now, after years of research and adventures, your Grandpa is close to uncovering this legendary bounty. However, he needs your help for the final steps. Together, you'll navigate treacherous waters, decipher clues, and possibly face supernatural elements guarding the treasure. Are you ready to join your Grandpa on this quest for riches?

HIT THE BULLSEYE

Upon entering the room, we found ourselves surrounded by props and creaking wooden planks, creating the sensation of being aboard a pirate ship.
We appreciated how the game designer allowed players to divide and conquer, as the second room is quite spacious, enabling everyone to contribute to the experience in various ways.
Despite the technology in this room being mostly Gen-1, there were plenty of traditional puzzles (especially a multi-step one) that were satisfying to solve.
The flow improved significantly in the latter part of the game. We were able to clearly understand the goal, which ultimately brought together all the pieces we needed to escape with the treasure.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

Without a hint or some indication, a certain concealed spot would be challenging to locate.
One puzzle assumed players would understand specific terms that might not be familiar to everyone. We were unsure of their meaning, which prevented us from interpreting the necessary clues to enter the correct solution.
One prop seemed like it should be hung based on its design. We recommend altering its appearance so players don't fixate on what they believe they should be looking for.
The final mechanism needs adjustment to reduce its sensitivity, as sometimes it doesn't trigger the finale even when players enter the correct solution.

Pirate's game has always been a fan favorite amongst escapees, captivating the imaginations of those who yearn for adventure and treasure hunting on the high seas. Riddler's Escape Tampa has definitely put their own distinctive spin on this beloved theme. In traditional pirate-themed escape games, the journey typically culminates in the exhilarating moment of discovering the treasure. However, Riddler's Escape Tampa takes this concept a step further, challenging players with the question: have you truly escaped the treacherous sea yet?

With some thoughtful tweaking of the puzzle flow and game mechanisms, Riddler's Escape Tampa could elevate the experience even further, making it accessible and enjoyable for both beginners who are new to the escape room genre and seasoned players who thrive on complex challenges.
