🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE
The storyline for "Manhattan" is based on Trinity, which was the code name of the first detonation of a nuclear weapon in New Mexico as part of the Manhattan Project. In this game, we are faced with challenges of the aftermath of the nuclear bomb. I love that there's an actual story that the escape room was based on. It makes it feel even more realistic when playing the game.
Survival mode was definitely turned "ON" for us in this game. We felt the urgency of having to get to safety with the help of the emergency sire and lights.
The set design was deceiving in a good way! We stepped foot inside what appeared to be a 2-story house from back in the 1940's. You'll soon discover there's WAY more to it than just a normal house.
One of the puzzles was really clever in it's implementation to the storyline. What will you do in preparation for a radiation alert?
There was a variety of challenges in "Manhattan" that enhanced the immersive experience. I think the physical puzzles is really what made this game stand out.
🧩 MISSED THE MARK
If we had to nitpick, certain puzzles in the latter part of the game was quite challenging to solve in the dim lighting.
🏹 TAKE A SHOT?
If you didn't know the backstory of "Manhattan", you'll be walking into a lot of surprises (in a good way). If you did, you might appreciate some of the set design even more. Regardless this room has a really unique storyline for an escape room and it truly make you feel the desire of wanting to escape. Be sure to check out River City Escape Room when you're in VA as they have a brand new room called "Brainstorm"!
ℹ️ ADDITIONAL INFO
