This is the first time we've seen Scarlet Envelope's new packaging. The plastic bag really helps to protect the content in the envelope from any shipping damages. In this game, you'll also find small plastic bags that act as evidence bags for the suspects.
The contents of this game include an investigation report, coroner's report, suspect profiles, Stanley Diner's menu, and 2 other documents. Moreover, you'll also encounter prerecorded interrogation videos that you can use in conjunction with the other evidences. The goal is to determine who's telling the truth and who's lying. Don't open the evidence bags until you're told to do so. Some evidence are also digital. You'll eventually discover a website where you'll be able to enter passwords and receive more information on the case. If you need help, solve a simple puzzle to get the hint website.

This game had a nice balance of utilizing the paper clues and the internet resources. It used some fun puzzles to bring out more of the storyline. Make sure to play it in a linear fashion as for some reason we were able to enter a code that made us skip a puzzle and still got to the solution at the end (Update: 8/4/21: this issue has been fixed by the creators). It'll be really fun to create a whiteboard for this game as figuring out the timeline for each suspect was quite important (and it'll make you feel like a real detective). Take good notes as you'll need to eventually piece together the evidence you've collected. This will really become handy at the end when you need to deduce the suspects and to find the real killer.

If you love murder mystery then you're going to be amazed by the production value that went into this tiny red envelope. Right from the beginning, you'll be drawn in by the intriguing backstory paired with the perfect background diner music, Through sleuthing on the police database, solving the puzzles that revealed more truth and carefully scrutinizing the various suspects actions and interviews, you'll ultimately find out what happened to Janice that night. The narrative was really well written as it made you believe that all the suspects had some kind of motive to kill the victim. You'll really need to dig deep to find that piece of evidence that will determine the real killer from the rest. Good luck detectives! Your case awaits...
