This is the first episode of the Isklander trilogy. You are a new member to the Plymouth Point Resident. It seems like one of your neighbors, Ivy has gone missing. The Residents Watch is holding an emergency meeting and you've been called in to help out with the search.

Our team met in the lobby of Zoom. The game pulled us in right away with a video from one of our neighbors at Plymouth Point. Throughout the game, a GM accompanied us for the experience. He/she would only participate through the chat box. This is where he/she will drop in clues and hints.

It was helpful to elect a teammate to share their screen so everyone on the team could catch up and proceed with the same speed. There were many websites, images, documents and videos we had to go through so it's imperative to use the "divide and conquer" strategy. Since there were a good amount of video components during the game, our advice is for everyone to wear headphones for this experience.

This was not your typical escape room type of puzzles but more like a detective adventure. The puzzles were more like sleuthing through the internet for clues and connecting the appropriate characters and the information that they've provided in order to find the truth behind the case. If you have a dual monitor or bigger computer screen, it'll make the game play much easier. As we pieced together the evidences, the computer screen felt like it turned into a big whiteboard with many opened window tabs. One thing that was hard to decide was which ones to keep open and which ones to close as they all felt like they could be relevant. If you've played one of The Detective Society's tabletop games before, it literally felt like Swamp Hotel turned it into an online RPG experience. It definitely helped having a group of smart detectives with us that day as we completed the game with 28 minutes and 43 seconds left.

Although sleuthing through the internet might not be everyone's cup of tea, I, for one loved it. As we gathered information from various characters and discovered hidden website portals, we found an unexpected turn of event in the storyline that send chills down our spines. Swamp Motel definitely knows how hook their audiences with their storyline because that cliffhanger is killing me. This was just the beginning and I'm sure Ep 2 and 3 will be even more "haunting"!

P.S. Swamp Motel was also the creator behind the "PANIC" experience for the premier of the PANIC series on Amazon Prime video. Although the experience is no longer available, we still wanted to give a shoutout to the creators as it was an amazing, chilling, and realistic experience that we thoroughly enjoyed. The game made us want to watch the series and of course we binged the entire season.

(If you do decide to try this game, give us a shoutout or tag us on social media so we know you heard it from "ESCAPETHEROOMers"!)

Disclosure: We thank Swamp Motel for comping our tickets for this experience. Although a complimentary experience was generously provided, it does not impact our opinion on the review whatsoever.
