This is our second mission with Agent Venture. Our first mission "The Heist" was a success! Hopefully our luck won't run out this time...This time our mission is to infiltrate the secret cybernetics facility underneath a casino on a private island. We need to disable the cybernetics or else B.A.D. will create a cyborg army and take over the world!

The format is the same as mission one. We were emailed instructions to assign a role for each of our team members prior to the game. Just like the first game we had 4 players but you're allowed a total of 5. There are 5 positions: Navigator, Hacker, Researcher, Communicator, and Coordinator (optional). Once the game began, each role will receive files that will be accessible only to themselves.

I was communicator again as I know my team will fail miserably if I was assigned the hacker (as sudoku was my kryptonite). I wish there were some other puzzle types other than sudoku as I would actually attempt that role for the next game. I enjoyed being the communicator as that's probably the "laziest" but most creative role in this game. There were times I was just waiting for the hacker to do the hard work but it also gave me time to plot my next move. The creative side definitely provided short cuts and entertaining moments for the team. It's necessary to come up with various types of methods to bypass certain obstacles as the hacker (shoutout to Armchair Escapist Jamie for being such a trooper!) could get quite exhausted if they are being utilized for everything. Although if someone was really good at sudoku, you may be able to make it to victory with just by using that method. Brandon quite enjoyed being the navigator in this game. He had quite a lot more navigating to do in comparison to the previous mission. Nick was our researcher and he had to do most of the reading. He was quite quick at finding information that we could use at various moments. Everyone exhibited their strength at various points in the game. Our agent in the field (game host) did a great job again with his verbal transcription of the actions in the story line. It vividly painted images in our heads on how we're climbing through vents, dodging the cyborg's attacks and fighting off guards in the field.

Since the adventure could become easier or more difficult depending on the choices the group makes, it's important to discuss all the options. There are information that one role has that the other doesn't. Sharing your screen over Zoom would definitely help and would allow other players who currently doesn't have something to do be able to chime in with their opinions. We hope that Agent Venture could also add in more video visuals in their next games to make the experiences more immersive. One thing we always love about their adventures is the creativity behind the story line and the innovative ways they can use a player's imagination. Did you know that you'll be completing your next mission on the moon? Hurry over to their website and check out that mission. Hopefully there's still some advance tickets left!
