📖 THE STORY

PROVE YOUR INNOCENCE... The year is 1955 and you've been sentenced to life for a crime that you did not commit! Luckily, your cell was once occupied by an inmate who vanished without a trace. Rumor has it that he might've successfully escaped or he was murdered by the vicious warden. Are you able to break out of this prison with the clues left by the previous inmate?

🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE

  • You can read our reviews on other in-person games that we've played at The Escape Game - "Gold Rush", "Special Ops: Mysterious Market", and "Playground". We've played so many prison-themed escape room games so we're always looking to see what innovative ideas would be incorporated into this one. This one was build to make us feel like we had to go through various obstacles to breakout from the jail cell to regain our freedom.

  • We started off in separate cells. It was great to be able to think outside of the box and try to utilize what you can if you were actually locked up. Our favorite part was actually not following what we were supposed to do (mainly because I was too short and missed something that's further up) and was still able to use what we had and completed the mission.

  • The set design was great. You definitely felt that dirty jail cell look and as we went on there were other surprises along the way. The high ceiling was pretty amazing. It really made us feel fully immersed in that atmosphere. The attention to detail was used on every single prop we saw.

  • The combination of mental, physical, and cooperative puzzles was great and so much fun! The added in sound and alarm trigger definitely added the urgency for escaping.

🧩 MISSED THE MARK

  • Two of the puzzles utilized the reading from left to right logic but we felt that it didn't quite correlate with the lock that we had to put it into.

  • Cici accidentally guessed one of the codes and we were able to skip two puzzles and complete the game. It would be great if the codes could be changed to something a bit less similar to one of the other locks to avoid this from happening.

  • If I had to suggest one thing that could've added the cherry on top, is a "wow" ending. The whole game was an adrenaline rush and the intensity increased as we progressed further. With that said, I wish there was more of a conclusion in the end for our mission objective.

🏹 TAKE A SHOT?

If you are debating on which prison-themed escape room to play out of the hundreds that are out there, we high recommend this one! "Prison Break" was the complete package of what an immersive escape room should be. The combination of physical & intellectual puzzles was implemented quite well from beginning to end. The set design had that signature quality that's expected from The Escape Game.
