🎯 HIT THE BULLSEYE
"Dr. Chen's Office" is the third installment from Think Solve Escape and a continuation of the two previous games - "Safe House" followed by "Aunt Sue's Apartment". It's rare to find escape room companies that uses this method to build their rooms where all the rooms are connected under one storyline. It really makes us want to play them one after another.
There's definitely an eerie theme transpiring from this game which would make more sense to you if you end up playing their 4th installment - "The Cellar"!
The set design was what you would from a doctor's office. Although, it is the smallest escape room in terms of area offered at Think Solve Escape, they definitely packed a lot of puzzles and surprises in there.
Although we've played a good amount of games by now, we were still surprised by how they were able to use common items that we've seen at other escape rooms but in a different way to express a similar puzzle. The cluing was great and made a nice connection with the storyline.
There was a good variation of challenges in this room with a mixture of traditional locks and tech. The flow of the puzzles were great and they all made sense.
In this room, you actually knew exactly what you're suppose to retrieve very early on. It was a unique approach to the ending since we could see it but couldn't get it until all the way towards the end when we solved all the puzzles.
🧩 MISSED THE MARK
Some cluing that was meant for beginners could be confusing to experienced players as we've solved one of the puzzles already without using the extra clue so the prop felt unused by the end.
Overall, this was a pretty solid room from beginning to end. There were a few points where we had to go back and forth between rooms but didn't know what was triggered after we had solved something. It would be nice to add some sound and music as ambiance at the appropriate times.
🏹 TAKE A SHOT?
We recommend playing all of Think Solve Escape's games! If you like storylines that continue to develop and connect with each other to unravel secrets then you should play them in order. They're already working on their next "series" starting with "Bubba's Backyard Bar-B-Que and Brohaha" with a 2nd installment on the way. We will definitely be back for that one!
